This is beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

My Ukranian name given at birth is Iryna, meaning "peace".

My American name given to me upon adoption at 2 years old is Abigail, meaning "my father's joy".

Ironically, the house I was born into was not one of peace, and my adoptive father committed serious crimes against me.

I am considering what to do with my name, and how to make it mean something for me today.

But what matters most is I have been adopted into the family of God.

This was really powerful. The honesty and vulnerability in your words hit deep.

It’s amazing how healing can shift the way we see ourselves, and your story is such a reminder of that.

I love how you tied it back to Proverbs 31:30—so much truth in that. Do you ever look back and realize how far you’ve come? Really appreciate you sharing this!
